The Hanen Program’s
More Than Words

The Hanen Program’s More Than Words was developed specifically for parents of children having autism spectrum disorder (ASD) diagnosis. This program uses practical strategies to teach parents how  to build communication skills during everyday family routines and activities. Communication skills are developed based on a child’s unique strengths and preferences.

More Than Words is evidence based. Research regarding More Than Words has found that both the underlying strategies of the program and the program itself have resulted in stronger interactions between parent and child. This new way of interacting has  resulted in measurable improvements in a child’s communication skills.
